EPCS Enrollment Process Overview

Use the new ID.me Verification Process to enroll in EPCS and prescribe controlled substances through your office key. The time required to complete the enrollment depends on how rapidly you complete the steps.


You should have received an email from Dr. First with the next steps in the enrollment process. The email is sent to the your  email listed in the used to create your AdvancedMD Login. If you haven't received this email, please get in touch with your hiring manager, they may need to confirm the email address on file for you. 


Important Note

Enrolling with EPCS to prescribe controlled substances through AdvancedMD will interrupt your ability to prescribe controlled substances through prior software.


EPCS ID.me Verification Process

As the provider, you will receive an email from Dr. First. The email includes an Enroll Now link. Use the link to begin the

ID.me Verification Process for Controlled Substance Prescribing.


Note: If you do not see the email in your inbox, check your junk/spam folder.


Go to Email | Click Enroll Now | ID.me Login | Click Create an ID.me Account.


1. Click Enroll Now in the email.

2. Accept the Terms of Use.

3. Record the temporary code to re-enter this workflow if you are interrupted.

4. Tap Create an ID.me Account from the ID.me login screen.


Important Note: If you already have an existing account, you must enter your existing Email and Password and click Sign In instead of clicking Create an ID.me Account.


5. Select one of four ways to verify your identity:

Driver’s License

State ID

Passport

Passport Card

6. Enter your mobile number to receive a text with a link.

7. Click the link to upload photos from your device.

8. Click Start Document Upload to take a photo of the front and back of the chosen verification document.

9. Acknowledge the verification with InfinID by reading the prompt.

10. Click Continue.

11. Take a photo of yourself to include with the documentation.

12. On your desktop browser, navigate to Medical Information Validation to complete the identity proofing process once you have successfully uploaded the documents and photo.


Note: The Medical Information screen is the same screen where the process started.


13. Click Begin.

14. Enter your NPI and DEA numbers.

15. Click Continue once you have verified your information is correct.

16. Click Allow on the You're Verified screen to transmit the information to Dr. First. 


EPCS Soft Token Registration and Signing Passphrase Creation 


After the ID.me Process, as the provider, you will need to set up a Soft Token and a signing Passphrase with InfinID for EPCS Prescribing.


Note: The signing Passphrase is important as this will be utilized every time when prescribing a controlled substance from the office key.


1.Download the VIP Access app from your mobile device's app store.


Note: The VIP Access app has the Soft Token you will use when prescribing a controlled substance.


2. On your desktop browser, navigate to the Token Registration screen with InfinID to register your Soft Token.


Note: If you do not see the Token Registration screen after clicking Allow, please refer to the original Dr. First email and click Enroll Now again, sign back into ID.me , and view the Token Registration screen.


3. Enter the Credential ID displayed in the VIP Access app in the Credential ID field of the Token Registration screen of your desktop browser.


4. Create a signing Passphrase.


Note: You will use the signing Passphrase whenever you prescribe a controlled substance from the office key.


5. Set up a Security Question.

6. View the Confirmation screen.


Your registration is complete. The next step is to link your Dr First account with AdvancedMD. Please contact your administrator and let them know you are ready to meet with them them to complete the LAC (Logical Access Control) process.
