If you’d like to send a document to a patient, start by ensuring that the document is saved as a PDF on your computer. Once you have that ready, just follow these simple steps to upload it to a folder that the patient can easily access through their portal. Happy sharing!
- Log in to AdvancedMD and go to the patients chart
- On the Documents Card, click on the green plus icon and select "Upload Document"
- In the New Upload Tab, do update the settings as described here;
- Set the folder to "Patient Viewable"
- Set the Doc. Type to Correspondence.
- In the Name field, give you document a name (generally a very short description such as "Records Request, Work Release, etc).
- In the description box, you can provide additional details about the document, and its purpose for sending to the patient.
- Next, click on the "Choose File" button, to open the file explorer. From there, you can navigate to the file you wish to upload and select it.
- Finally, at the top of the tab, just below "New Upload", click on "Upload to Chart".
All Done! The fle has been uploaded to the patients' portal, and they can now check it out anytime they want. Feel free to close the "New Upload" tab, and you'll see the document you just uploaded in the patients' document card.
