Salesforce Password Reset Link Says Its Expired or Already Used

Created by John Hendrock, Modified on Mon, 24 Jul, 2023 at 3:36 PM by John Hendrock

If you forgot your password, you click the "Forgot Password" link on the login page of Salesforce. Salesforce will send you an email with a link to reset your password.

Salesforce, in order to maintain tight security,m only allows each link to be "clicked" or used once. Some email scanners will check the URL/page in the link to make sure it is legit (counts as a click), and clicking the link in Outlook will also (due to the testing of the URL on your initial click) invalidate the link.

Salesforce recommendation is "Copy and paste the password reset link into your browser, rather than clicking the link directly. Copying the link can sometimes bypass the check from email server protection software. "
